Anteo streptavidin coated 1 μm magnetic particles use the Mix&Go™ chemistry to couple streptavidin to the particle surface. This provides enhanced loading capacity for the capture and detection of low concentrations of biotinylated target molecules.
Native streptavidin is a 55 kDa non-glycosylated biotin-binding protein isolated from Streptomyces avidinii. Streptavidin has a pI of 5-6 and can bind 4 moles of biotin per mole of protein with very high affinity (Kd ∼10-15M) and selectivity.
AMG streptavidin magnetic particles combine the coating technology of Mix&Go with the affinity of streptavidin for biotinylated molecules, resulting in a high quality and robust streptavidin magnetic particle.
AMG 1 μm streptavidin magnetic particles are particularly well suited to the study of various experimental assays requiring accurate detection of low abundance biotinylated molecules; as well as purification of targets to your biotinylated reagent of choice. Particles are particularly suited to binding biotinylated antibodies, antigens, oligonucleotides and peptides.
Particles can withstand harsh conditions including:
- Elevated temperatures: >60°C x 1 hr
- pH extremes: pH 2-12
- 5% Tween-20, 8M Urea, 1M NaCl, 50% DMSO
