AnteoX recognised at the Australian Climate Technology Awards

    By AnteoTech | Uncategorized | 0 comment | 28 October, 2022 |

AnteoTech Ltd is pleased to announce that its energy division and product AnteoX, have been recognised as an emerging leader at the 2022 Australian Technologies Competition (ATC).

AnteoTech’s energy division which developed AnteoX, a unique binder technology for improved silicon battery performance, was awarded first place at the inaugural Australian Climate Technology Awards (ACTAs) in the Renewable Energy category.

Part of the Australian Technology Competition, the ACTAs are designed to identify and accelerate Australian-based technology platforms with global potential. The event was sponsored by the Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) with a keynote address from Elizabeth Molyneux, the DELWP Deputy Secretary of Energy.

Finalists in the competition were required to present a 5-minute pitch in front of a panel of Judges and a live audience. AnteoTech was previously selected as one of 43 semi-finalists in the competition, and one of 16 in the renewables category, where its technology was assessed across two judging rounds before its selection as a finalist.

The company will now move onto the National Finals, where finalists from all award categories will present their technology in front of another judging panel.

As part of the clean energy transition, the development of lighter and longer-lasting batteries will play a crucial role in the use of resources and associated wastage. Silicon has been identified as a particularly effective storage element – able to store up to 10x more lithium by weight and up to 3x more lithium by volume compared to conventional graphite batteries.

In turn, the binding agent is a critical component of silicon anode batteries which connects the agents that store charge and underpins longer battery life. AnteoX plays a central role in the development of longer-lasting batteries by reinforcing the binder network and making it more resistant to silicon expansion over the life of the battery.

AnteoTech CEO and Managing Director, David Radford, commented: “I’m pleased to announce the receipt of this ACTA award, which confirms AnteoX’s position as an emerging leader in battery manufacturing and battery storage technology. I’d like to thank the ACTA organisers, judges and competition partners led by the Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning.

The AnteoTech management team looks forward to providing more exciting updates about AnteoX’s development pathway in the months ahead as the division continues to work with its strategic partners.”
